Terms of sale and use

The deal, in plain words.

Last updated 31 July 2026

These terms cover what you buy from us, what you can do with it, and what we do and do not promise. Buying HeadcountZero means you accept them.

1. Who you are buying from

HeadcountZero is sold by ROAS Performance LLC ("we", "us"). We are an independent company. We are not Anthropic, and HeadcountZero is not an Anthropic product. Claude and Claude Code are trademarks of Anthropic, PBC, used here only to describe what the product works with.

2. What you are buying

One-time purchases of digital items. Which ones you have depends on what you chose:

  • The book: a written book, 7 parts and 31 chapters, read through a personal access link.
  • The Audiobook (optional add-on): a narrated edition of the same book, downloadable.
  • The Install Kit (optional add-on): the 90-day install as fillable worksheets, downloadable.
  • The Company OS (optional upgrade, offered after purchase): a downloadable set of templates, playbooks, registry files and role brains that you run in your own terminal.

No physical goods, no software service run by us, no subscription. Updates are included at no extra cost for as long as the product exists.

3. One payment means one payment

Every item is a single charge. There is no subscription, no trial that converts, no continuity programme, and nothing in this funnel that can bill you again on its own. If prices rise later, that does not affect anything you already bought. You keep your access and your updates at the price you paid.

4. Your licence

You get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use what you bought for your own business, including inside a company you own or work for.

You may not resell, republish, share, upload, or redistribute the book or the downloadable files, in whole or in part, and you may not share your access with people who have not bought it. Access is per buyer. We may revoke access if it is shared or redistributed, and if we do, no refund is due.

What you build with the method is entirely yours. The repos you write, the playbooks you fill in, the company you run on it: we claim nothing in them and have no access to them. Files derived from our templates stay under this licence as templates, but the content you write into them is yours outright.

5. You need a Claude subscription, which is not ours

The book is written for Claude Code. You buy that directly from Anthropic, under Anthropic's terms and pricing, and you pay them, not us. We do not resell it, earn nothing from it, cannot support it, and cannot refund it. If Anthropic changes their product, plans or prices, that affects the steps in the book and we update the book, but the relationship stays between you and them.

6. Your company, your accounts, your decisions

This is the important one, so it is stated plainly:

  • You decide what to automate and how much autonomy to grant. The method is built around a mandate ladder and an approval gate on anything that commits money or your name, and the value of those gates depends on you actually keeping them.
  • You are responsible for the legal, tax, regulatory and contractual obligations of your own business, including anything an automated process does on its behalf.
  • You use your own accounts, your own credentials and your own machine. Nothing in the book asks you to circumvent a security control or misrepresent who is acting.
  • Where you operate in a regulated field, professional judgment and disclosure requirements remain yours. The book argues this at length rather than treating it as fine print.

We cannot know your business, your contracts, or your industry's rules. If what you are planning is restricted where you operate, this product does not override that, and we are not responsible for the consequences of ignoring it.

This is not a redundancy plan. It is stated on the sales page and it is stated here: the method is written for the operator who does not scale payroll in the first place. Employment decisions, and their legal consequences, are entirely yours, and nothing we publish is employment advice.

7. Where your data goes: nowhere near us

Everything you build runs on your own machine. We run no servers for it, host nothing of yours, and never see your files, your work, or your company's data. The only outside service involved is Claude, under your own account with Anthropic.

The exception is ordinary business data: your email address, purchase record and any support messages you send us, used to deliver the product and answer you, nothing else. See Privacy.

8. What we promise, and what we do not

We promise the product is real, that it is the cleaned-up version of an architecture that actually runs a real company, and that a human answers when you are stuck.

We do not promise you a specific result. Quotes, figures and company examples on our pages are attributed to their published sources, are about other people's businesses, and are not forecasts for yours. Predictions we cite are identified as predictions. What you get out of this depends on your business, your systems, and the work you put in. Nothing on our pages is a guarantee of revenue, savings, headcount, or any other outcome.

The product, including the book and every template, playbook, checklist, script, registry file and configuration file in the Company OS and the Install Kit, is provided as-is and as-available, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Templates and code can contain errors. Test on sample data before you point anything at real work.

AI does what AI does. Claude is a probabilistic system operated by Anthropic, not by us. It can produce output that is wrong, incomplete, or harmful if acted on unchecked. That is precisely why the architecture places a mandate ladder and an approval gate in front of consequential actions. We do not control Claude and are not responsible for anything Claude generates, does, deletes, sends or fails to do on your computer or in your accounts. If you remove or bypass the gates the product ships with, or grant a role a mandate it has not earned, you do so entirely at your own risk.

To the maximum extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses of any kind, including lost data, lost files, messages or actions taken by automation on your behalf, security incidents, regulatory penalties, or lost income, and our total liability to you for all claims combined is limited to the amount you paid us. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and nothing here affects your statutory consumer rights.

9. You accept the risk, and you cover us

By buying and using this product you accept the risks described in sections 6 and 8: you decide what to automate, you decide how much autonomy to grant, you review what goes out, and you accept the consequences of those decisions as your own.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ROAS Performance LLC and the people behind it against any claim, loss or expense, including reasonable legal fees, brought by any third party arising from your use of the product. That includes automation you run, output you approved or failed to review, obligations of your own business, and your use of third-party services such as Claude under their terms.

Nothing we publish is legal, financial, tax, employment, or IT-security advice. If you are unsure whether something is permitted in your business or your jurisdiction, the answer lives with a professional, not in our book.

10. Refunds

14 days, full refund, per item. The details, including our discovery-stage question and the make-it-right option, are on the Refund Policy page, which forms part of these terms.

11. Changes

The book is revised as the tooling moves, which is the point of updates being included. These terms may also change; the version in force is the one published here on the day you buy. Material changes will not be applied retroactively to purchases already made.

12. Law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the state in which ROAS Performance LLC is organized, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Questions first, lawyers later: write to support@headcount-zero.ai and we will try to sort it out directly.
